We freelancers seem obsessed with speed. There are many articles out there to instruct us on how to get more done in less time.
Not only that, but I’m often contacted by freelancers who are looking for ways to do their work more quickly. The common thinking is that the more a freelancer does, the more they will earn.
And it’s not just freelancing. Our entire culture seems to be in a rush.
But is it true? Is faster better? The signs are out there that it may be time for many freelancers (and others) to slow down.
In this post, I’ll describe some of the problems associated with trying to accomplish too much. I’ll also address one reason why freelancers try to work too fast.

The 5 problems freelancers need to avoid are crucial. While it is important and exciting to do more under a short period of time, CAUTION should still be applied. Stress and Mistakes can actually make one to miss important deadlines.
The more a freelancer does, the better he learns. This cannot be ignored, even as the common problems discussed above should not be neglected. The truth is that everyone’s condition for being fast or slow as freelancer varies. Therefore, that I idea should be looked upon subjectively.
You are talking about having problems by going too fast with your projects, and I agree with most of the problems you mentioned; that it can take a toll on the quality of your work. But missing your deadline by going too fast? Don’t you think it is actually contradictory? You miss deadlines when you accept TOO MANY projects at a time. You don’t miss it by going too fast.
