In case you haven’t heard by now, around 11:00 yesterday someone hacked Burger King’s twitter account. Changing their account name to McDonalds as well as their picture icon and bio information. You can read more about it here.
Now I am assuming the people at Burger King a FREAKING OUT about this. Especially considering there was some vulgarity involved. However, I think you can defiantly look that this from a positive stand point:

Yes Jeremy, this type of scenario readily helps to spike up traffic for the ‘victim’. I am pretty sure that Burger King is experiencing a surge in traffic.
Talk of taking advantage where there is an obvious disadvantage! The news that Burger King has been hacked spreads and makes traffic on the site to increase. It goes to show that any social media’s account can experience a surge in Traffic even in negative press.
The menace of hackers should never be under estimated. This is the time for Burger King to properly secure their Twitter account as well as other online ventures!
