Mozilla announced that they are going to try and compete with Apple, Google, and Microsoft on the mobile phone industry now as well.
In my opinion it’s about time. Not saying that I use Mozilla (if you don’t know by now I am an Apple guy all the way) but I still think that this was the right move.
From what I heard Sprint is the only U.S. provider on board with it right now however I see great potential for it in some of the developing countries, which from what I have read is their exact plan.
It’s a tall order going up against those big three but then again if you sit idly by the competition will pass you just like it did with Blackberry who is currently trying to make a comeback with the release of their new operating system.

You never can tell with what the customer wants with dynamics of the market. I commend Mozilla for their initiative. As whether it can compete with the BIG THREE, well, there is always a starting point, and if they do the right thing and meet the needs of the consumers, they are bound to cut in the share of other producers.
Perhaps the issue of whether Mozilla can compete with established mobile makers like Google, Microsoft, and Apple should not arise for now. Consumers still need more options and better features with mobile technology.
I use Mozilla with my desktop and I can’t see any reason why they shouldn’t do it. I mean, they should’ve done earlier but it’s never too late to jump in the wagon. It doesn’t matter if Mozilla’s competing with the big guns. Competition will always be there. Nothing new to that. Way to go, Mozilla!
