Despite earlier attempts to bring streaming music to the masses, Spotify really nailed the concept when it launched in 2008. Now its the service every company in the business of selling music is trying to copy, including Amazon.
The Verge reports that Amazon is currently in talks with record labels on setting up its own subscription-based music service. If successful, Amazon could prove a formidable rival to incumbents like Spotify as it really has an established business in selling physical and digital music.
Of course, it probably will be a while before we see anything from this. Those privy to the meetings say that Amazon and the record labels are now just beginning to talk, and that said talks are “very informal” at this point in time.

There’s nothing surprising about this especially that Amazon has been trying on new things recently. They always do that’s why they are such a successful company. If they are going to push on that, better luck to them rivals. But who knows?
This information has been presented as rumor, however there is no denying the fact that it may become reality. You just cannot tell with what Amazon has to offer especially if it new things that promotes its business.
Perhaps the music streaming industry is just going to be the next buzz online. Amazon could be positioning itself to take a bite of the PIE. However, since this is speculation, I still wouldn’t be fooled to think that Amazon is not making any headway into this online music streaming and subscription service. In every rumor, there is still the element of truth!
We are waiting to see how events unfolds. Marketers can leverage on this information to develop marketing strategies that would see them benefit from Amazon as well as from record labels. The rumor is positive and going by feelers, things may like fall through soonest!
I am not surprised because as the later part of this article has stated ” nothing is rumor” now. We can expect Amazon to fully get into this market to compete and stamp its brand authority. Well, lets hope all works out fine for the good of customers!
